Recently they found a dog abandoned on the moor, the poor girl was starving and trying to eat roadkill.
Farplace took her in and gave her food, medical treatment and love.
They named her Beauty.
She only stayed with them for three weeks, because she was found to be suffering from advanced cancer.
When the time was right, they let her go.
The rescue are fundraising to complete a barn they will name in her memory and this drawing will go in there.
Beauty.
A Beauty of a painting for them Pat, well done, they will love it and I hope it raises lots of money for them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann. I've heard back that they are going to keep this drawing, frame and hang it in "Beauty's Barn"

It's stories like this that show that even though there are cruel people out there who would abandon a dog, there are also wonderful people who will do everything they can to help that same dog, that gives me hope. I love this drawing Pat, and what a wonderful cause too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Crystal, glad you like it.
ReplyDeleteI too am in awe of those who stand up and care - they are inspirational! xx
This is such a touching story, love the portrait you made of Beauty . xx
ReplyDeleteoh, Pat, how sad . My heart just goes out to these poor animals.
ReplyDeleteAt least her last few weeks were spent with people who cared and could help her . BJ
Beautiful drawing, Pat, and so is your soul. Love to hear stories like this, at least Beauty found comfort before she passed away.Lovely dog!
ReplyDeleteIt's true what Crystal says, thankfully there are those that care and will help as best they can under the circumstances. It is beyond me why there are so many cruel people in this world but I like to think they are in the minority and that the majority of us humans are decent caring people - we just seem to hear more about the badness in our world rather than the good, beautiful drawing and a beautiful tribute
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely painting. It's so sad to hear stories about animals that are abused, neglected or abandoned but it's always heartwarming to hear about them being rescued. Thankfully Beauty was able to cross the bridge in the company of friends and feeling loved
ReplyDeleteSometimes people’s actions just make me sad. Then there are those like Farplace. Your painting will look wonderful hanging in the barn. What a lovely tribute to Beauty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawing, Pat. And thanks for sharing the story.
ReplyDeleteThose people do wonderful work, Pat. It is a beautiful drawing of Beauty and it's a great tribute to her!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, thank you for sharing Beauty's story. Your painting of her is wonderful, hoping the fundraising goes really well!
ReplyDeletePat what a beautiful tribute your art makes - your story brought tears to my eyes - so glad Farplace was there for this poor dog's final days. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteEs una historia triste. Si Pat, es un bello retrato. xx
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous drawing Pat. Both of my previous dogs have come from rescue shelters after being ill-treated so this heartwarming story is close to my heart.
ReplyDeleteThe portrait is beautiful, Pat. But what a sad story.
ReplyDeleteHello Pat:) What kind of people get rid of a sick dog? I always get angry reading this kind of things. I'm glad there are such people as you are Pat. At least her last time was better. I can't express myself as I would in Dutck but I hope you know what I mean! Your painting is so beautiful it makes me sad and happy at once. You are a very good person!
ReplyDeletea touching tribute pat ..beauty reminds me of our border collie ..they must have been delighted with your drawing
ReplyDeleteHello dear Pat,
ReplyDeleteEvery dog lover wishes they could take in every abandoned dog they see but sadly they are too many. Thank God for such wonderful places. I know your painting will look just wonderful in Beauty's Barn.
Algie is getting quite wilful! He can be a very naughty boy but I adore him and really was quite upset last night.
Hugs xxx
