Our Autumn Years

When I was looking for something to paint a little while ago, I took out my phone and browsed the pictures on there. Sometimes you see, when I'm taking Missy for a walk, I see something that makes me think - that'll make a painting!

This particular  photo was taken on one of our walks and it was a door in a wall that backed onto a green. The door led, who knows where?

But, I thought, that'll make an interesting painting.
So here it is:

Voyager

My concentration span isn't completely with it at the moment for painting intricate pictures, so instead I've tried to paint something simple.
Funnily enough, even simple pictures require a deal of concentration to make them look simple! Have you ever found that?

Nonetheless, I love to paint, and even if keeping on top of the ankle rehab exercises takes a lot of time ( and it does) I still find myself wanting to paint. So I've made time to wet the brushes and produce a relatively simple painting.
Completely from my imagination and no drawing.

The painting that kept my brushes wet is this, and I call it Voyager

Garlic

Another of my foodie paintings.
They were sitting in the fridge and I thought, 'let's paint those!' As you do :)

So here you have, for no other reason than 'they were there'

A few small paintings

My ankle rehab is ongoing, I'm doing the exercises and the walking - thankfully now without crutches!

Apparently it will be six to eight weeks before its back to normal - but I couldn't last all that time without painting!

So I painted a few small pictures - 10" x 7"

I hope  you enjoy them - they've helped to keep me sane!

Chestnut Mushrooms

I like to cook - and sometimes I like to paint the ingredients too!

These Chestnut Mushrooms cried out to be painted.

The Five Worlds Crown

This painting came about because of  one of my short stories - a science fiction one.

So its a little different from my usual paintings, but sometimes different is good - and it gave me great practice in getting some really strong darks!
