Companionship

I may be writing lots more than ever before, but I haven't forgotten how much I love to paint, also.

This weekend just gone I had a day with an artist, who was teaching me loose techniques.
I watched, copied and absorbed.
Then I painted alone, using a pot of parsley and some apples to create a still life, trying to put into action the earlier instruction.
This is the first - and I've called it  " Companionship ".

Time to loosen up!

That's what my mummy said.. time to loosen up!

I'm trying to think what she means...

when suddenly she starts flicking paint all over the show!

What's that about, hey?

Mummy says she was very tight in the last painting, so she needs an exercise to loosen up - and this is it.

What do I think?  I think mummy needs to learn how to loosen up the way we dogs do :)

new book, new technique

I've bought a new book!
I have always liked the look of animals painted in a "loose" style in watercolour - this is the book to help me achieve that style.

All work and chores done, Missy taken for a long walk around the field, I settled down to read the book cover to cover - which has now been done!

Its very exciting, the photos of the paintings are lovely, the technique seems well explained. Delicious book.

Tomorrow I start practising the exercises within.
It'll be an exhilarating journey, learning something new.
