Patty's Poppy

My holiday's nearly over and I have been painting, just not as much as I'd like!
Isn't that always the way?

We were having a poppy challenge over on Painting Friends ( click HERE for website)  so I decided to join in .
I took the photo and cropped it further, because I like those images where you are in the heart of the flower.

Without further ado,

Patty's Poppy

This painting - and all the paintings I've ever made - can always be seen on my gallery website HERE

  3. I like the close-up view also, and it still is unmistakenly a poppy! Lovely colours and wet in wet effects in the petals!

  5. I do like the close up. I'll have to remember this when I start learning applique here soon. I want to make some really artsy floral quilts. In never thought to zoom in to the center. I need your little magni-viewer!

  11. Poppies are my favorite flowers! I have been spriinkling seeds all over the garden just recently in the hope that some might spring up! Your painting is lovely! This is a pink poppy rather than red? I have never seen one of those :0)

  13. Glad you liked it Tonya. It wasn't done with the magni viewer, though, just an ordinary photo then cropped on the computer. :) xx

Thanks, Anamaria - the colours were done wet in wet, which always seem fresher to me :) xx

I love poppies too, Sandra, from the showy ones to the simple ones - and yes, this is a pink rather than red. I've yet to tackle the blue poppy!
