Like many artists, I have a huge file on my computer containing photos I might one day paint.
I decided it was time to do some clearing out - and whilst doing that, found a couple of London ones I still fancied painting.
These were taken during a walk beside the River Thames and I got a little experimental with the painting - but then, you wouldn't expect anything less!
Here, Boudicca's statue with the clock tower housing Big Ben in the background..

Very nice. I have a ton of pictures on my computer but I would never be able to paint anything that even came close to looking like any of them :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great fun making something of them, Ann.. they are only for inspiration after all.
DeleteVery nice painting,Pat
ReplyDeleteThis time of year when the weather turns cold, its a good reminder to go through photos to paint from. Thank you
Glad you like the painting - and the reminder!
DeleteP.S. Pat,
ReplyDeleteI linked to this post on my blog today. Thank you again for the inspiration
I've just read it - you have some beautiful photos!
DeleteOh Pat I love this. The splashes of colors adds a super touch to this lovely drawing. I do have photos on my computer that I thought would make a painting. Perhaps I need to pull out my file too. Have a great day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Pull the file out - and remember, they are only to inspire - that sky didn't really look like that ;-)
DeleteLove it! ♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeletethanks, Robin.
DeleteI love the experimental approach of this painting. Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy. I'm quite taken with it too. There might be another in the same vein!
DeleteYou gave this painting action with the watercolour Pat, I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann - I wanted to make it feel like a firework party, without being too dark. Glad you thought there was that action.
