London River Thames: Evening Cruise

Like many artists, I have a huge file on my computer containing photos I might one day paint.

I decided it was time to do some clearing out - and whilst doing that, found a couple of London ones I still fancied painting.

These were taken during a walk beside the River Thames and I got a little experimental with the painting - but then, you wouldn't expect anything less!

Here, Boudicca's statue with the clock tower housing Big Ben in the background..

London River Thames: Evening Cruise

Painted on Saunders Waterford paper, 140lb rough and measuring 15"x 11"

  1. Very nice. I have a ton of pictures on my computer but I would never be able to paint anything that even came close to looking like any of them :)

  4. Oh Pat I love this. The splashes of colors adds a super touch to this lovely drawing. I do have photos on my computer that I thought would make a painting. Perhaps I need to pull out my file too. Have a great day. Hugs!

    1. Thank you. Pull the file out - and remember, they are only to inspire - that sky didn't really look like that ;-)

    1. Thanks Ann - I wanted to make it feel like a firework party, without being too dark. Glad you thought there was that action.
