Sunday dinner at my much loved auntie's house.
Irish stew.
The marvels of cooking to a youngster.
Warmth and comfort.
Such seemingly simple things.
Such wonderful memories.
Lovely work, Pat. Superb rendering of the stainless steel colander - reminds me of the one we had when I was a kid. I think my last attempt to comment on your previous post - the ice cream sundae - went awry! Flipping Blogger grrr. Anyway .. both lovely pieces!
Thanks, Michael. I still have that one in my kitchen! Funny how we both have memories of them as a child. Good ones for you too, I hope! Ack, blogger does sometimes lose stuff.. but thanks for telling me now you like them both xx
Wonderful Pat, my very Italian aunt had the same colander, and she bought me one for my wedding gift, it only has 2 of its little legs left but I use it every week! Another beautiful painting.
oh bless, Maria! Who knew aunties over the world favoured steel colanders? :) Mine has a round pedestal base, so no feet to break - else I'd have done it  Glad you like the painting xx
Great painting, Pat! I love the reflections of the veggies in the steel colander! I am working on something stainless steel too, coincidentally. Fun, isn't it!
Your right, these memories are precious. Love your painting where you have not only got the reflections but also the look of 'stainless steel' in the colander, not an easy feat but you have done it in your usual brilliant style.
Ciao, mi piace molto questo lavoro perchè è tratto dal vero ma ha un'atmosfera astratta e una staticità molto affascinante. Anche i colori e il riflesso sono belli e nitidi. Gran bel risultato. Ciao, Floriana
