This time instead of showing you all the thought processes and thumbnails, I'm just going to show you the final painting.
You can make your own story up for it this way. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it.
V: The Other Side of the River
This is a lovely painting Pat. It looks so still and serene.
ReplyDeletethanks Ann, glad you like it xx
ReplyDeleteLove that foggy background wash and the texture in the foreground too, Pat. I guess it's the same for you down there - fog here at the moment !
ReplyDeleteI love that foggy background wash - and then what happens? We get fog!!!
ReplyDeleteSo I am thinking of painting a sunny pic next!
We're meant to have fog all day - you too, I take it?
That foggy background is fabulous, Pat! Makes you wonder what is on the other side...
ReplyDeleteSmall world here too, so you better get on with your sunny painting! :)
Thanks, Judy :) What is on the other side, who knows? Its nice that everyone can have their own idea .
ReplyDeleteFoggy with you too? Heavens.. I best paint something tropical :) xx
this is really lovely, I love the misty quality. early morning or early evening,
ReplyDeleteI really love that you left the upper portion of the painting water. It gives so much mystery and interest to it. And the sight of those lonely canoes at the bottome sort of gives it a melancholy feeling. It's wonderful Pat. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great Pat. I love the colours. It's a very calming scene :0)
ReplyDeleteI love the boats as they seem to bob in the water. Then again, I'm partial to beachy scenes anyway! So serene. Nice job, Pat.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely.. SO calm. SO serene.. Would sit here all day looking at nothingness..
ReplyDeleteGreat painting Pat. I love a picture that gets your mind wondering and this one certainly has me pondering over what lies within the fog.
ReplyDeleteYes, please ... paint us some sunshine. ;-0)
I do love it, Pat - everything about it. It makes me want to hop into one of the boats, and row over to see what is behind the fog on the other side. Brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteFoggy also in Milan :-)) Wonderful painting Pat, the fog is stupendously painted . And I love the title!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, I like very mach the essentiality and the suggestive background of this beautiful watercolor......and, of course, the magic blue! Ciao!
