V: The Other Side of the River

Its the Year of Painting (YOP) time over at Painting Friends.
This time instead of showing you all the thought processes and thumbnails, I'm just going to show you the final painting.
You can make your own story up for it this way. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it.

Love that foggy background wash and the texture in the foreground too, Pat. I guess it's the same for you down there - fog here at the moment !

I love that foggy background wash - and then what happens? We get fog!!!
So I am thinking of painting a sunny pic next!
We're meant to have fog all day - you too, I take it?

That foggy background is fabulous, Pat! Makes you wonder what is on the other side...
Small world here too, so you better get on with your sunny painting! :)

Thanks, Judy :) What is on the other side, who knows? Its nice that everyone can have their own idea .

Foggy with you too? Heavens.. I best paint something tropical :) xx

I really love that you left the upper portion of the painting water. It gives so much mystery and interest to it. And the sight of those lonely canoes at the bottome sort of gives it a melancholy feeling. It's wonderful Pat. :)

I love the boats as they seem to bob in the water. Then again, I'm partial to beachy scenes anyway! So serene. Nice job, Pat.

Great painting Pat. I love a picture that gets your mind wondering and this one certainly has me pondering over what lies within the fog.

Yes, please ... paint us some sunshine. ;-0)

I do love it, Pat - everything about it. It makes me want to hop into one of the boats, and row over to see what is behind the fog on the other side. Brilliant!!

Crystal, melancholy was exactly the mood I was after! It feels like that to me too . xx

Thank you, Prabal. I could sit looking at it all day too.. it has a certain hold on me.. xx

Thanks John. I purposely didn't want to tell anyone my thoughts on this one, because I wanted you all to wonder - and make up your own story, which may not necessarily be mine ..

Sunshine ordered for tomorrow ! xx
