Hope this painting makes up for it - my version of a Mollie Jones demo on Painting Friends ( you can see Mollie's version HERE)
Mollie is a wonderful artist and person, always ready to help. I've named this painting for her, as a homage.
Tea with Mollie
Wow, beautiful, Pat! I love the bright colours you used!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy. I do like a bright colour or two :) xx
ReplyDeletePat this is good, you got the silver down right. I like your blue in the pot.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nora! You're very kind xx
ReplyDeleteThis really is amazing Pat! The silver actually looks like silver! Just perfect! :0)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteCan't remember if I've tried silver before - but Mollie made it sound so easy with her demo - and voila!
I'm sure there will be more on the horizon :) xx
Great job Pat. The silver is great and the reflective colors are perfect. Love it.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Dors!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite pleased with it :) xx
Pat, this painting is wonderful. I love the reflections in the spoons and the colors in the teapot! This is beautifully painted.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely delightful, Pat. I love those bright colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christiane, glad to hear you think I've painted it beautifully :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathryn, it does look delightful.. next time I'm going to paint muffins in there too.. because it made me peckish ! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautifully rendered metal, Pat. I love the vase too. Looks very much like our posh silver cutlery that we only get out for Christmas .. hang on a minute ... LOL
ReplyDeleteFantastic work, Pat, I'm impressed by the "silver", it looks so real...well done!! Un abbraccio.
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, You're really good at making the spoons look like silver. Have checked out Mollie Jones site and Painting Friends, all makes interesting and useful reading. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Pat...I love the blue tint to the teapot and the silver is gorgeous...you did good, girl. You've gotten the reflections down perfectly.
ReplyDeletePat...tried to comment earlier, but Blogger doesn't like me today. This is just gorgeous...you did a marvelous job with the silver and the reflections. Really love the blue in the teapot gray also...grays can be so flat...and this one isn't flat. Good job.
ReplyDeleteSuch brilliant reflections Pat, this is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe spoons look hard...getting them to shine like that...but then I know that your new fun is crystal and such so I bet you enjoyed painting them. Love to see us BOTH having fun with our creations! xx
ReplyDeleteI like the way you composed your painting, Pat. Looks so interesting, with all these colored shadows. Lovely!Invites for a cup of tea.xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting Pat, you really master the reflexing technic. Wonderful colors!

ReplyDeleteLovely colours and you have got the reflections in the silver just perfect! amazing
ReplyDeleteWonderful reflects! It's very hard to reproduce these effects with watercolour but you're great! Arianna
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done! Excellent job on the reflections.
ReplyDeleteExcellentWork
ReplyDeleteGosh, thank you all for your kind comments! So glad you all enjoyed this piece. I had a fab time painting it :) xx
ReplyDeleteLove this one Pat! Great color and contrasts!
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty good attempt at silver Pat. It's not easy I know. It was difficult enough for me when I tried painting a car with chrome headlights and wing mirrors. You know what you can see, but it doesn't feel right when you are laying down the paint!
ReplyDeleteWow, Pat.... haven't been around much this summer (busy, as usual) but I see that I've missed a lot of gorgeous paintings on your blog! This is awesome... love the bright colors, the crispness of the reflections and the cleanness of all the colors. Great job girl!!
