Watching You Leave

I had originally written a story called The Snow Queen and I wanted to make a painting to illustrate it.
The first attempt was Determination, which is a lovely painting, but not quite what I had in my head. So this time, I thought I'd paint a young person, because the snow queen was young  - and yet again I have a painting that isn't the image inside my head - but more one that as I painted, developed in its own way.
It even inspired me to write a new story, called 'Watching you Leave.'

So here's the painting - I hope you enjoy it.

Saunders Waterford 140 Rough
15" x 11"

  13. Beautiful Pat. :) And isn't it funny how sometimes the paintings we 'see' turn into something awesome that we didn't 'see'?
