The Alphabet Paintings: J

J is for Jellyfish..

originally I was going to count the pencil as the J painting, but then I decided to paint the jellyfish using a limited palette .. French ultramarine, indigo and cadmium orange

Jellyfish II : the colours of my life

  1. This makes it seem like a very friendly jellyfish that is just going to glide past me in a very graceful way... But... the fire of its sting is still there in the orange color within! :)
    Blessings!

  4. Pat, perfect choice of complementary colors, his work in the wet was wonderful, she is actually swimming gently.
    Congratulations and a hug

  5. If I would ever have to meet any of your jelly fish, I think it would be the white one, because this one looks like the ones who stings, burns or whatever...but still a great painting.

  6. I usually use shades of blue-green, prussian blue, but I loved the combination you made! French ultramarine gave depth to your painting and the jellyfish seems to float. Very beautiful work, my friend. Kisses!

  7. I like the gold of the cad orange- it is glowing! Your water has that look of light coming from above also- nice!

  10. I like the background. Being a diver, it really does remind me of looking up to the surface and seeing the light distorting through the surface ripples! :0)
