Flight of the Bumble Bee

A new painting, using one of my digital microscope photos as reference.

The close up photo was one of a flowering top of lavender that had missed the trim back before winter set in.
The title comes from the fact that this is the close up view, seen from above - not a view we normally see, but a bee would!

Thanks, Sharon. I've had a whole new world of painting opened up since the Christmas present of this microscope :) xx

Thank you Ann! Brilliant is a wonderful accolade. xx

Thanks Sandra. The colour is one of my favourite mixes. Just varying water content gives so many different hues :) xx

Thank you Jane. Glad you like it :) xx

Thank you Maria. I love that background too :) xx

Thanks Kathryn. Lovely viewpoint, I think. Though I'm sure a bee has a complex eye that won't necessarily see it like this! However, artistic license, you know :) xx

You know, this is what I love about this digi microscope, I can paint reality but yet it looks abstract! Best of both worlds :) xx

Thanks Sheryl - awesome is good :) xx

Has to be the bee, bluebottle doesn't sound as nice :) xx

Thanks Ann. Little creatures do quite get a view, don't they? Different viewpoints - all right to themselves and all fascinating to me :) xx

Thanks Linda. The world must look different to each species and its fun to paint another viewpoint :) xx

Hi Pat, I've just joined Paintingfriends - oh boy it looks like a minefield at the moment, can't quite work my way around it, or find how to add paintings, but will have to keep going back into it and see if dopey me can work it out:)
