But thanks to the superb care at Queen's Hospital Romford, I was in and out for my blood test within ten minutes!
Which meant painting time and a very happy me :)
So I nipped over to Judy's blog, De Draad Aquarellen HERE who recently showed us a step by step to painting loose pears.
Absorbing the lesson, I drew my own pears and had a go at the technique.
The result, whilst not as loose as Judy's, is one I am very pleased with.
My red, yellow and blue were what I had to hand, not the same colours, so that's different too !
Nonetheless, in gratitude for Judy taking the time to do a step by step to explain her loose technique, I called this painting :
de peren
Nice, Pat! I have the hardest time loosening up and know when to stop with the details! I just commented on your last post and by the time I posted, you had put up a new one!
ReplyDeletetee hee, Sheryl.. I can pretty much guarantee that will be the last time that happens to you :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the painting :) xx
Ik hou van de peren! I love the pears! Did you find it difficult to paint wet in wet this way?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy!
ReplyDeleteNo, it wasn't difficult, just different - and today I was so happy I flew through the hospital system, I was painting with delight. It really just flowed, though I have to admit to liking the red bits best :) xx
Hola Pat, me gusta el resultado de tu acuarela utilizando solo tres colores. Fantásticas peras¡¡
ReplyDeleteReally like the blending and colours Pat. Hope all is well with you considering the blood test - I personally so dislike these routine necessities, but one has to go through the process sometimes.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely, Pat. I like the bright red with also some bright yellow. For me this is loose enough which made me like it more.
ReplyDeleteAren't pears a great subject to paint, looks like you had fun with this - I love the results of working wet in wet - these are great!
ReplyDeleteJust popping in again to say thank you for visiting my blog and becoming a follower, lovely to see you there - I'm new to all this and couldnt figure out how to send you a message another way!!
ReplyDeletewell those are some pretty pears. Remarkable that you could get in and out of a hospital in 10 minutes for blood work. That would never happen here
ReplyDeleteWonderful job, love the loose feel and the colour choices, great luminosity to it
ReplyDeleteHola Pat, cuando puedas pásate por mi blog y mira la entrada del día 30 de junio. Saludos.
ReplyDeleteLovely! (Hope the test comes back okay!)
ReplyDeleteoh, my favorite (one 0f) subject .. the PEARS!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job on this Pat, I have to get over to Judys blog, she always has such beautiful work. I just love her style, I'm always striving for it, but never quite get there. ! hugs, BJ
You truly used the step by step from Judy! Your pears are beautiful, Pat, great work! xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous pears! I love this technique. Those step by steps are so helpful aren't they, when you want to try something different? :0)
ReplyDeletelove this! they are glowing!
ReplyDeleteNice Pears Pat. I've been awol for a while so missed Judy's post. I'll pop over and have a look and have a go at these myself. Glad you were in and out of the hospital so quickly. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCiao Pat,
ReplyDeleteJudy non può che essere orgogliosa, insieme a te, perchè le tue pere hanno una vivacità e una lucentezza
notevoli! Belle!
Ciao, abbracci, Floriana
Thanks for all your kind comments, everyone.
ReplyDeleteThings have been hectic here, we've got a moth problem! Furniture has been moved and carpets lifted and much sterling work done by Mr Dyson .. we will beat them!
xx
Hi Pat. Loving your pears. Lots of looseness, light, form and wonderful colour too. They are a great subject indeed. Hope your blood test went OK. Take care. Laura x
