The memory of Love
and then I thought, "what happens as memory fades?"
From talking to others, a thing seems to be remembered in pieces, not in the whole. A little block here, a little block there, so you get the flavour of the memory, if not the whole scene.
Which means, don't you know - there's another painting coming out of my brush.... here are the first two photos of it !
As Memory Fades... stage one and the close up
Ciao Pat,
ReplyDeleteil titolo mi sembra azzeccato per questa immagine fresca e romantica
con colori vividi e coinvolgenti!
Ciao, abbracci, Floriana
Thanks, Floriana, so pleased you like this painting and the title :) xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little 'primadonna' :-) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane :) xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful waterlily, Pat, I love the detail of the waterdrops! Interesting to see where you are going with 'blocks'. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy.
ReplyDeleteI like the drops too, but am wondering if maybe they would be enhance by lifting a tip of clear space. At the moment I am thinking perhaps that would be too much fiddling :)
I hope you enjoy the blocks painting just as much :) xx
I like the sentiment that as the memory fades, you are left with the flavor of the memory, not all the little details. That is very deep, my friend! This painting is lovely! I really like your gentle colors.
ReplyDeleteI love your finished waterlilies Pat. beautiful. Hugs to you and Missy! xx
ReplyDeleteAhhh ... better! And the new painting looks intriguing, with the blocks of color in the background!
ReplyDeleteHello Pat:) Love your waterlily. Very tender and beautiful colors. Great art!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful Lilly! Gorgeous! Ours haven't flowered this year, I think perhaps the weather has confused them in to thinking it's Autumn!! :0)
ReplyDeleteLovely painting Pat. Good start to your next work too.
ReplyDeleteGood finish on this painting, Pat.
ReplyDeleteI think possibly a little highlight on each waterspot might lift it without spoiling the painting??
Looking forward to what your fertile mind will come up with next :):):)
Pat, magnífica acuarela, ¡Me encanta como ha quedado! Tus pensamientos me hace meditar sobre lo que sucede en nuestra memoria. ¡Gracias por compartilos!
ReplyDeleteThe water lily is beautiful and I like the beginnings of your next painting
ReplyDeleteLovely waterlily! I especially like the reflection. Great job!
ReplyDeletewonderful work! looking forward to the next piece!
ReplyDeletevery good work.. a humble suggestion : The water that shows between & under the leaves need to show the reflection/shadows...instead of the clean blue hue...
ReplyDeleteall the best!
Thanks Katherine. I do have deep moments, I also wanted to explain how the next will come about, just in case anyone is interested in how I get inspired :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, June. xx
Thank you, Kathryn.. the new one is intriguing : )xx
Thanks, Renate, xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra, mine hasn't flowered this year, either :( Maybe next, eh? :) xx
Thank you Ann xx
Thanks, Tricia. I was wondering whether or not to fiddle and add highlights, it was the only part I was undecided on. I think I'm done with this one though, so I'll just remember for the next one. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sonia. Glad you like it :) xx
Thanks, Ann. Stay tuned for the next :) xx
Thanks, Robin. I like the white reflection too :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny xx
thank you Ashok and please do feel free to suggest away.
Funnily enough in the ref photo the front pads only had a dark line under them, no reflection like the lily.
The rear ones where I have shown clear blue, you are spot on!
I just chose to ignore it to lighten up the picture a bit
There you have the cavalier mind of this artist... if I don't like a ting, I change it! xx
