The memory of Love

Here's my finished painting - thanks for the suggestions on what to watch for. I hope you enjoy this finished piece.

The memory of Love

and then I thought, "what happens as memory fades?"
From talking to others, a thing seems to be remembered in pieces, not in the whole.  A little block here, a little block there, so you get the flavour of the memory, if not the whole scene.
Which means, don't you know - there's another painting coming out of my brush.... here are the first two photos of it !

As Memory Fades... stage one and the close up

  5. Thanks Judy.
I like the drops too, but am wondering if maybe they would be enhance by lifting a tip of clear space. At the moment I am thinking perhaps that would be too much fiddling :)

I hope you enjoy the blocks painting just as much :) xx

  6. I like the sentiment that as the memory fades, you are left with the flavor of the memory, not all the little details. That is very deep, my friend! This painting is lovely! I really like your gentle colors.

  10. A beautiful Lilly! Gorgeous! Ours haven't flowered this year, I think perhaps the weather has confused them in to thinking it's Autumn!! :0)

  12. Good finish on this painting, Pat.
I think possibly a little highlight on each waterspot might lift it without spoiling the painting??

Looking forward to what your fertile mind will come up with next :):):)

  17. very good work.. a humble suggestion : The water that shows between & under the leaves need to show the reflection/shadows...instead of the clean blue hue...

    all the best!

  20. Thanks, Tricia. I was wondering whether or not to fiddle and add highlights, it was the only part I was undecided on. I think I'm done with this one though, so I'll just remember for the next one. xx

Thanks, Sonia. Glad you like it :) xx

Thanks, Ann. Stay tuned for the next :) xx

    Thanks, Jenny xx

thank you Ashok and please do feel free to suggest away.
Funnily enough in the ref photo the front pads only had a dark line under them, no reflection like the lily.

The rear ones where I have shown clear blue, you are spot on!
I just chose to ignore it to lighten up the picture a bit
There you have the cavalier mind of this artist... if I don't like a ting, I change it! xx
