The mask was a photo I found on Morguefile, a free photo site by creative people. They allow other creative people to use the photos for free.
The story behind this painting was actually a story written for my creative writing course. I thought it might be nice to create a painting to match the title.
So here she is,
"Diva"
Hope you enjoy it!
Great painting Pat! I love the composition! How is your writing course? There are more free photo sites like that, I'll have a look, always looking for inspiration. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy!
ReplyDeletethe writing course is all finished now. All I have to do is keep on writing - which I am. First novel has been started!
Hope you find something you like on Morguefile :) xx
Many people find a subject they love to paint and then settle on it for some time. Take Judy, with her apples, me with my bears, Crystal with her portraits... But you seem to offer a new subject in every post! Some of your subjects are quite surprising too! You certainly dont' bore :0)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandra :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if that's a fault in me or not! I only know sometimes an inspiration will hit and I have to go with it.
I have painted a lot of dogs previously and continue to do the odd one here or there, but in the main, I paint whatever brainwave hits me! :)
Beautiful subject Pat! You really did an interesting wonderful watercolor. Ciao!
ReplyDeleteWell your brainwaves are just fine . Your subjects are always interesting, as is this one..
ReplyDeleteBJ

ReplyDeleteI love the painting...is looks like a Venetian mask. What a great idea to combine painting with your creative writing. You are so creative!
ReplyDeleteThis has such mood and power! Even though the colors appear delicate it still has a lot of strength. Really well done pat. :))
