No, its not a dominance thing with Missy, we don't subscribe to that theory. Instead today's blog post is all about having fun with our dog.
We believe that kindness and fun are the way to train dogs, so we can enjoy life together!
We bought darling Missy some new agility equipment for use in the garden .
Here she is, ready for the off
Going through the hoop
Trying out the weave poles and thoroughly enjoying it
and having a go at flyball. She has to put paws on the board to make it release the ball.
and once she had the ball, she had to do a " lap of honour" :)
The joy in Missy's life spills over to ours. Its great to have such a fun companion.

Brilliant post Pat! Missy is really enjoying her new play equipment. Do they make a 'sneak-in-the-dining-room-and-eat-as-much-cat-food-as-possible-before-they-catch-me" obstacle as well - lol.
ReplyDeleteMichael, get him his own agility equipment (pets at home, £10) and I can guarantee after you've trained him and run him round, he'll be too tired to nick the cat's food!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat! What a wonderful post for a dog lover like me! I think my two boxers would enjoy this as much as Missy. Hope I can find something similiar here. Missy is a lucky girl to have you! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they would, Anamaria :)
ReplyDeleteWe built some of our own equipment when we first adopted Missy, but am delighted to see it in shops now!
Glad you liked the post xx
Ahh...Missy really looks like she is enjoying her agility equipment. Great post...
ReplyDeleteHi,Pat,
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos!! I wish I could play with Missy!!! Thank you. Please pass my "pats" to great Missy.
Cheers,Sadami
What a wonderful happy post, Pat! Missy is a clever girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann. Glad you enjoyed the post. We like to have fun :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sadami, we wish you could come play with her too ! :) xx
Thanks Judy, it is a happy post. Dogs are such fun friends! xx
What a lucky girl Missy is! :0)
ReplyDeleteIt is so great to see Missy and you enjoy life so much!
ReplyDeleteSurely a happy and clever dog, beautiful post. xox
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandra - we're lucky too, there's great fun in owning a dog :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christiane, we certainly do enjoy life. Sometimes I think people forget how much fun having a dog can be! xx
Pat, Missy is one VERY lucky girl [I won't say "dog"]. She looks so completely happy with her new set-up. You are a most kind and thoughtful "mom"!
ReplyDeletethanks, Jane. Glad you enjoyed the post :) xx
ReplyDeleteKathryn, you can say dog, after all she is one! :)
ReplyDeleteIts a benefit to both of us if we enjoy each other. That's what I love about a dog, the companionship, the enjoyment and the fun you can have.
But I never forget she is an animal too - and I don't put her in awkward situations which would stress her - or go against the grain for me!
This post made me so happy. Missy is a lucky dog. :)))
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it, Crystal. xx
ReplyDeletePat, you'll have her competing for first prize soon. I think she's a natural...
ReplyDeleteYour love for her shines through,
bj
Bj when we first adopted her we introduced her to agility at classes. She was 8 years old - and the trainer thought she was a natural.
ReplyDeleteShe was in veterans classes even then. At nearly 14, we don't compete, but she loves to play for fun! xx
This wonderful post made me think of my late dog, Tess. She loved this sort of thing and I made her a few bits and pieces that she thoroughly enjoyed. She'd have been in seventh heaven with the equipment you bought Missy. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteJohn, I'm so glad this brought back some great memories for you.
ReplyDeleteI know that you and Tess would have had a great bond, forged through love xx
That looks like fun for both you and Missy. She seems to have caught on to all of it quite nicely.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics! She looks like a natural!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have so much fun with the new toys and you will never now that she is an older dog. She is just having the time of her life!
ReplyDeleteYay, Missy! Good dog!
ReplyDeleteWhat a funny garden!! :D Arianna
ReplyDeleteLittle Miss Missy looks like she is having a grand time on her course! I especially like the lap of honor!!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at Mike's comment (the very first one) about the cat food...I have one of those sneaks, too! Telling her "that's not yours!" just makes her try to eat faster. LOL
Ranger says he wants to come to England and play flyball with Missy.
ReplyDeleteLove my Missy girl but you know that right Pat---so good to see her playing and having a "ball"!
