Dive!

I was going to do a stage by stage, but somehow got carried away and finished the painting all in one sitting.
The impatient ones amongst you will be happy :)

Here's the finished painting: Dive!

This painting will be added to my permanent gallery site

  3. Hi Pat, thank you very much for your comment in my blog! I'm not sure if you receive my reaction if I post it in my own blog, so I post in yours :D I love this painting of a diving penguin, penguins are such nice animals and watercolour painting is a really beautiful type of art! I would love to have the talent to paint as beautiful as you do, they're really so lovely... :D

  6. another great painting pat great movement in this one .
i was told a tip for underwater scenes is to paint your wash for the sea after masking off your subject of course then immediately cover with cling film not tight but loose ,crinkle it a bit then when it is dry you get random underwater lines and odd shapes , hope you dont mind the tip i have not tried it myself yet

  7. Glad you like it Bob xx

Don't mind the tip at all - I've used cling film to make tree bark lines, so I can see how it would be useful for fast moving water :)
