Boy King 4

Because the theme of shades of grey was already in my mind from the previous painting, it was continued into this one.

The first wash is a pale grey, just to fix the Boy King into the painting.

  2. I am impatiently awaiting the second wash, because this is where I have questions. Will you wet the whole face first, or just paint the places you want colored. How transparent will the second wash be? Hurry!

  3. Heavens - what on earth has happened to patience?

The next wash will be wet on dry and each layer is the same transparency as the one before, but the value will be different. So, you will see darker tones, but not a sticky mix of colour. :)
