The Sweetest Easter Chick

The sweetest Easter chick flew into my life over Easter - and cherished it will be.

She came sitting on her own little egg -of the Cadbury's Creme variety -
and she was made for me by my good friend Beryl.

Perfect day!

I had an enjoyable day over at my friend Beryl's .
We had one of our painting days, that happen every so often, when we can fit them in.

Coffee, chat, paint a sky, trip to the greenhouse, paint the pond.
Cup of soup, toasted teacake, paint the bridge.
You get the drift. :)

Its the most enjoyable day going, painting, laughing, the company of a good friend.

Perfect Day

Unbowed

I have a friend who likes to paint - and every now and then we get together to have a "Painting Day"

On this painting day we like to try out new techniques.
When we get a finished painting at the end of the day, it delights us too :)

Does it delight us as much as the coffee and currant buns we ate?
Hmm.. not sure... but one thing is for sure - the painting will last longer than our currant buns did!

Mini I

Mini is one of two poodles, the other being Cooper.

Both dogs were painted by myself and Beryl on a painting day.
Sometimes its nice to have company when you paint.

The Journey Home

My friend Beryl came around for a visit yesterday.
Her husband Dennis was helping my Paul to put a new roof on the garage.

So, in between making cups of tea, Beryl and I set to, making an abstract painting each.

This is mine - and I call it "The Journey Home"

two "get well" wishes

Did you know Claude Monet painted his wife Camille as she was on her deathbed?
I don't know how he could do that!
Yesterday my little terrier wasn't well and needed to see the vet - art was the last thing on my mind. Her getting well was. Get well soon, my Miss.

The second wish is for my arty friend Beryl. We go on painting workshops together. She has sadly fractured her kneecap and is immobile for a few weeks.
I have told her all about my new toy so today I am off to the art shop to buy an Inktense pencil for her, and a new sketch book too. We will not be sketching her plaster cast!
